COVID-19 PROCEDURES & POLICIES

With everyone’s safety in mind, please help us observe these new procedures and policies Nashoba Valley Olympia and Colonial Figure Skating Club have in place:

  • NVO and Colonial staff will be cleaning and sanitizing often and thoroughly.

  • Please arrive as fully dressed as possible and ready to skate or play.

  • We encourage parents/guardians to wait outside the facility whenever possible, please help us limit the amount of people in the building to keep staff and our skaters safe.

  • Stay 6 feet apart from non-family members.

  • All locker rooms will be closed.

  • No food or drink (other than water) can be consumed in the building.

  • Entrance and exit doors to the facility and the ice surface are clearly identified – please use as directed.

  • Please use hand sanitizer or wash your hands before and after you get on the ice.

  • Many hand sanitizer dispensers are available throughout the facility.

  • Everyone must wear a face mask at all times when inside the facility (over the age of 2). Masks help to keep you from infecting others, so by wearing a mask you are protecting your fellow skaters, players, coaches and their families.

  • It is strongly encouraged for skaters to wear their masks on the ice (Masks help to keep you from infecting others, so by wearing a mask you are protecting your fellow skaters), but skaters may remove their masks once on the ice as long as they continue to observe social distancing rules to allow 6 feet between other skaters.

  • Skaters must place their masks back on before they step off the ice.

  • Only one person is allowed in the restroom at any one time.

  • There will be no cash or check transactions for Freestyle Sessions. All classes and freestyle sessions must be paid online in advance (no walk ons).

  • Skaters are required to do a self check-in when they arrive at the rink. This will be done by skater/parent’s cell phone upon arrival by logging into the Skate portal.

  • There are designated areas on the bleachers for skaters to keep their belongings. All items must be clearly marked with your name, especially water bottles. All of your belongings must stay in this area during your session (kiss and cry bags, water bottles, etc.). Do not touch other people’s property.

  • Any water bottles left in the building at the end of the day will be discarded to reduce the spread of germs.

  • Do not linger in the lobby. Please sit in designated places 6 feet apart from other guests, do not enter the facility earlier than 15 minutes before your session starts, and leave within 15 minutes after the end of your session. If you have a break between sessions, you must leave the building and re-enter no sooner than 15 minutes prior to your next session.  This reduces congestion in the lobby and allows time for cleaning in-between sessions.

  • There will be a tent outside the building for skaters to wait for for parent/guardian pickup.

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes. Do not spit or drop your tissues on the ice or the floor. (Yes, we had to say that.)

  • Do not enter the facility if…

    • You feel ill, have a fever or cough, feel short of breath, or recently lost sense/taste or smell.

    • You have been in close physical contact in the last 14 days with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.

    • If you have a medical history that places you in a high-risk category, we recommend that you do not enter the facility.
