Off-Ice Performance Enhancement
Allison Stringer, M.S., P.T.
Participation in off-ice training programs are well established in the world of figure skating as one way skaters can maximize their performance and help avoid injury. Identifying past or existing problems and deficiencies in flexibility or strength can also help to prevent injuries or plateaus in performance as skaters move into the competitive season.
Allison specializes in the treatment of the spine, sport injuries, and orthopedic rehabilitation. In December 1998 she completed the Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy advanced training residency program, a two-year program focusing on manual skills including manipulation, joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, as well as exercises and ergonomics. Allison has extensive experience with pediatric and adult populations. She has performed high school athletic screenings and given community lectures on low back
