2010-2011 Colonial FSC Membership Categories

Full Skating:

Full Skating Membership confers ice reservation privileges and participation in all club activities at member rates.  This is the only category of membership which accrues seniority.  If a full skating member is under 18 years of age, the skater’s parent/guardian will receive one free Parent membership.  A member, who designates CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receives voting rights at CFSC member meetings.

Parent:

Parent memberships are for a parent of a skater who wishes to participate in the Club.  One free parent membership is included in the cost of a Full Skating membership (for skaters who are under 18).  Additional Parent memberships can be purchased.  Parent members may participate in club activities at member rates and vote at membership meetings.  Parent members may not reserve ice or accrue seniority.

Adult:

Adult memberships are for skaters 18 years of age or older.  Adult members do not accrue seniority, but may participate in club activities at member rates.  Adult members, who designate CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receive voting rights at CFSC member meetings.  Adult members may reserve ice on Adult and Dance sessions only.  Adult members may join the Adult Synchro Team with no additional membership fee.

Dance:

Dance memberships are for members of any age who will only be skating on Ice Dance sessions. Dance members do not accrue seniority, but may participate in all dance activities at member rates and confers ice reservation privileges that are limited to Ice Dance sessions. Dance members who designate CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receive voting rights at CFSC member meetings.

Synchronized:

Synchronized skating memberships are for skaters who will only be skating on synchronized skating team practice ice.  Synchro members do not accrue seniority and   may not reserve ice on other sessions, but may participate in club activities at member rates.  Synchronized Skating Members, who designate CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receive voting rights at CFSC member meetings.  This membership may be upgraded to Full Skating membership at any time during the season with Board approval.

Theater on Ice:

Theatre On Ice (TOI) memberships are for skaters who will only be skating on TOI team practice ice.  TOI members do not accrue seniority and may not reserve ice on other sessions, but may participate in club activities at member rates. TOI members, who designate CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receive voting rights at CFSC member meetings.  This membership may be upgraded to Full Skating membership at any time during the season with Board approval.

Bridge/No Test:

Bridge/NoTest memberships are for skaters who are currently participating in the Colonial Basic Skills Program and who have not passed the Pre-Preliminary Test. All Bridge members must remain in the Colonial Basic Skills program in order to participate in this membership type. Bridge/No Test members do not accrue seniority, may reserve ice on Bridge and “No Test” sessions only, if they have named Colonial as their home club, and may participate in club activities at member rates. Skaters will be limited to sessions designated as "No-Test" (Low Free/Moves) sessions specific to the membership category. Skaters in this category of membership do not receive voting rights at CFSC membership meetings. This membership classification may be upgraded at any time during the skating season with Board approval. 

Introductory:

Introductory memberships are for skaters under the age of 25 who are new to CFSC.  Introductory members may not accrue seniority, reserve ice, or vote at CFSC member meetings, but may participate in club activities at member rates.   A skater may enroll under an introductory membership for a maximum of one season (July to June).  This membership classification may be upgraded at any time during the skating season with Board approval.

Associate:

Associate memberships are for skaters 18 years of age or older who wish to maintain USFS and CFSC membership, but are no longer skating full time.  Associate members can participate in club activities at member rates, but cannot reserve ice or vote at CFSC membership meetings.  Associate members will not accrue seniority, but will maintain the current seniority as long as they remain a member in good standing.

Off-Ice:

Off Ice memberships are for individuals of any age who will only be participating in off-ice training or classes offered by CFSC professionals or staff in areas governed by CFSC Rules and Policies. This membership permits individuals to participate in all off-ice activities offered by CFSC at member rates. Off-Ice members may not reserve ice, and seniority is neither accrued nor preserved.  Note: Nashoba ISI skaters may also participate in off-ice training or classes governed by CFSC without obtaining a CFSC Off-Ice membership.

Special Memberships

Honorary:

This membership is a lifetime membership confirmed by a vote of the membership at an annual meeting upon recommendation of the Board of Directors. This special membership is awarded to a selected member honoring his or her contribution to CFSC. The membership is free and includes the right to participate in all club activities at member rates. This membership does not include ice reservation. Honorary members, who designate CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receive voting rights at CFSC member meetings.

Officials:

Official memberships are provided to US Figure Skating appointed officials who are eligible for inclusion in the Officials Directory of the US Figure Skating Rulebook. These members do not accrue seniority, may participate in club activities at member rates and may reserve ice on adult and dance sessions only.  Official members, who designate CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receive voting rights at CFSC member meetings.

Professional Memberships

Full Professional:

Full Professional memberships are required annually for all Board-approved eligible and ineligible professionals affiliated with and/or using club facilities and/or contracted ice for teaching purposes. Professional members may participate in club activities at member rates, but may not reserve ice.  Professional members, who designate CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receive voting rights at CFSC member meetings.

Basic Skills Professional:

Basic Skills Professional memberships are required annually for all Board-approved eligible and ineligible professionals who are teaching in the Basic Skills Program only. Professional involvement with any activity other than Basic Skills will require an upgraded membership classification. Basic Skills Professional members may participate in club activities at member rates, but may not reserve ice.  Basic Skills Professional members, who designate CFSC as their USFS Home Club, receive voting rights at CFSC member meetings.
