LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM

Please join us for the 2007/2008 basic, adult, and advanced learn to skate program. The program follows the guidelines set forth by the United States Figure Skating Association. The 2007/2008 skating schedule will run as follows:

  Session 1: 09/10/07 - 11/17/07 (no classes 10/1- 10/4, 10/6)
  Session 2: 11/19/07 - 02/02/08 (no classes 11/22, 12/24 - 12/27, 12/29, 12/31, 1/1)
  Session 3: 02/04/08 - 04/12/2008
  Session 4: 04/14/08 - 06/21/08 (no classed 05/26)

Weekday classes are held in Rink 1:  Snowplow Sam through Basic 7 will take place on either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon from 4:35 to 5:35 p.m., or Thursday afternoon from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.   Saturday morning class will be held in Rink 3 at 7:50 a.m.  This class is for Snowplow Sam through Basic 7 skaters as well as Adult 1-4 level skaters. All classes are ½ hour with a ½ hour practice. 

Basic 8 through Freestyle 6 will be held on Monday or Thursday from 4:35 to 5:35 p.m.  These lessons will consist of ½ hour freestyle and ½ hour of another advanced skills discipline according to the discretion of the program director. 

Full Payment is required at the time of registration. We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card.

Refunds are provided for medical reasons only when accompanied with a doctor’s note. Make-up classes are NOT allowed for any reason.

Ice Skating Show:  The 2008 Ice Crystals Show will be held in early May. Skaters must enroll in at least three of the four sessions to participate.  There is an application fee as well as a costume fee.  Applications will be available in November and are due back to the office in late December with the application fee.

Practice Ice is available on Thursday afternoon from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.  Skaters may buy a one-hour block of ice time for $18 and check in with Colonial Office with payment.  Skaters may choose to practice or schedule a private lesson. For those skaters interested in more ice / lessons than offered through the Learn to Skate Program, please speak with the Colonial office staff regarding a Colonial Bridge Membership.
